Meet Matthew Jeffers 

Matthew Jeffers is an associate at Karpinski, Cornbrooks, and Karp. Matthew’s practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on state and local government official matters.

Prior to joining Karpinski, Cornbrooks & Karp, Matthew clerked for the Honorable Kathleen L. Beckstead of the Wicomico County Circuit Court and was an associate at a Baltimore area firm where he focused on professional liability, premises liability, and employment practices litigation. 

 

Matthew graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2017 with degrees in history and economics. He then graduated from Washington and Lee School of Law in 2021.

During law school, Matthew was a student attorney for his school’s Immigrant Rights Clinic. He also competed in multiple external competitions, including a finalist placement at the 2020 Mid Atlantic Patent Drafting Competition.

 

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys volunteering at various charitable organizations, including an animal sanctuary and non-profit providing educational opportunities to low-income children in India. He also enjoys training for and participating in foot races and other running events.

 

Matthew was born in raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. Following his paternal lineage, and much to the chagrin and consternation of his Baltimore colleagues, Matthew is an avid fan of the New York Yankees.
